About the Taxes Tampa Accounting Scholarships
Tampa Accounting Firm, Taxes Tampa, is proud to announce the support of Accounting education in the Tampa Bay community. Based on recent reports from Business Insider and Fortune Magazine, it’s been identified that fewer college students are choosing Accounting as a major and career path.
With the growing concerns of an accountant shortage, Taxes Tampa aims to help those who are choosing to pursue Accounting upon graduation!
Taxes Tampa is granting 2 scholarships ($1,000 each) to students meeting the requirements below. Applications must be postmarked no later than July 30, 2023. The monetary value of the scholarship will be issued for use during the Fall/2023 semester.
The scholarship recipients will receive funds after Taxes Tampa receives proof of the following:
1. A completed application
2. Proof of enrollment at a 4-year college or university
Requirements for the Tampa Accounting Scholarships
Applicants must:
1. Be currently enrolled in a Tampa Bay* area Community College, Private University, or Public University pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business for Fall 2023.
2. Be enrolled at least part-time, with a 2.0 average or better per semester.
3. Submit an application with a 350-500 word essay describing the events, people, or experiences that developed your interest in a career in Business, Finance, Tax, or Accounting and your career goals after your graduation.
*Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Manatee, Sarasota, Hernando, and Citrus counties
Scholarship #1
Accountant in Tampa Scholarship - $1,000
This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding college senior or graduate student who is entering the Tampa Bay Accounting workforce within the 2023/2024 academic year.
With the projected shortage of Accountants growing, we want to award those students who show commitment to keeping the Accounting Industry alive through their continued dedication and hard work past their academic careers.
Part of this scholarship includes free mentoring from the Taxes Tampa staff as you continue to grow your accounting career in Tampa Bay!
Scholarship#2
Taxes Tampa Accounting Scholarship - $1,000
This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding college or graduate student (any level) who has faced adversity and challenges while pursuing their education and career.
We know how hard it can be to prioritize your education and career when there are outside factors that affect your time and mental health. We want to award those who, against all odds, overcame their challenges to continue their pursuit of higher education.
Diversity and inclusion are highly important to us at Taxes Tampa. Women, LGBTQ+ community members, first-generation college students, single parents, students with disabilities, and students who identify as Black, Latino, Asian, or other ethnicities are all encouraged to apply!
